About

Objectives

- Remove obsolete factoids
- Update outdated factoids
- List factoid candidates
- Tidy up factoid aliases
- Provide a collaborative method of factoid review and updates

Methodology

(as of Nov 2, 2011)

Under the heading "Candidates For Removal", sections containing:

Factoid name (including aliases), Factoid content, Reason (please include your name), Notes/Actions taken (please include your name)
Sample Criteria: Factoids with obsolete information, inaccurate information, potentially harmful, and cannot or will not be updated.

Under the heading "Candidates For Update", sections containing:

Factoid name (including aliases), Factoid content, Reason/Proposed update (please include your name), Notes/Actions taken (please include your name)
Sample Criteria: Factoids with useful but outdated information, with typographical errors, broken links, could be made more succinct or verbose.

Under the heading "Candidates For Inclusion", sections containing:

Proposed factoid name (including aliases), Proposed content, Reasoning (please include your name), Notes/Actions taken (please include your name)
Sample Criteria: Factoids which do not yet exist but possibly should.

The table format for headings is currently:

Under the heading "Remarks:"

Comments regarding anything which does not fit under the above described headings.

Newfactoid is an example of something users should know about and is usually much too tedious to keep typing in a support channel.

!mail (aliases:!lists,!mailinglists,!ml)reads: <reply>Mail is another medium to communicate. Ubuntu mailing lists can be found at http://lists.ubuntu.com ..which is somewhat confusing. Suggest !ml be assigned to this and !mail point to something to do with email in a more generalized way - Kaulbach

!msfonts is an alias to !fonts which is an alias to !font ... which while it may work means when you look up !font in database it does not show !msfonts as being one of it's aliases - Kaulbach
