Was not able to get in-kernel swsusp to work (screen goes black, suspend image is written, then nothing more). Suspend2 works without a hitch. Suspend to ram (ACPI S3) does not work due to IDE trouble, see http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2039 |

I am willing to do regular testing of breezy install iso's /software in order to ensure that this laptop works out of the box. Just email me the details of the testing needed, and will email back results in the next few days. Details of my install and configuration woes are chronicled here: http://pages.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/~weckerl/ferrari_ubuntu_64.html |

STR works, STD didn't work last time I checked |
The DVD drive can be removed to add a new battery. It's supposed to be hot-swappable, but the kernel seems to crash when I remove it. I have a hotkey to disable the touchpad, but it seems it needs SHMConfig in the X config (synclient doesn't work without it). When the battery is charging, there's no way to know how much time it needs to be fully charged (might be a BIOS limitation). See also http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5402 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10770 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10771 |

Neither suspend to disk nor suspend to RAM work. The screen goes blank and the system appears to go into a hard loop. I have to switch off the laptop and reboot. |
The battery applet doesn't detect when the power cable is plugged/unplugged. If power is connected when the applet started, it will always show the power icon. I'm willing to debug the ACPI stack to get the suspend working. I need help/instructions on how to help. |

wireless card needed ndiswrapper + Dell Drivers (Dell Truemobile 1350 broadcom chipset - this laptop is also available with ipw2200 wireless, which should work out of the box). Also needed BIOS setting changed to do a FULL post, rather than a fast post, or modprobing ndiswrapper hard freezes the machine in some situations. ALPS touchpad works as ps/2 mouse, but no scrolling/etc. To get fglrx to work, had to set MonitorLayout option to "LVDS, AUTO" in xorg.conf |

Had to use acpi=force pci=noacpi to get the suspend to work properly. Wireless cardbus card works with the rt2400 driver http://rt2400.sf.net but has some issues when suspending. The card must be removed or the machine will hang on suspend. |
