Notes
- *Problem with allocation of vmalloc space. System is crashing after about 10min of start. In /var/log/messages you can find:
allocation failed: out of vmalloc space - use vmalloc=<size> to increase size
Userful link: http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2005-04/0746.html
Run the following only if you'd experienced system freeze after couple of minutes after start!!
# Edit kernel start-up options. Open grub file: gksu gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst # Append at the end of line with your current kernel "vmalloc=512M". In my case it was: # kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-11-generic root=UUID=3f876497-95c0-4be7-8a28-6ff57e08589b ro quiet splash vmalloc=512M # Open new line after the one you have edited in point2 and put: # uppermem 524288 # To confirm that those changes took affect run in terminal before and after this change: cat /proc/cmdline cat /proc/meminfo |grep Vma
- ** In case the microphone doesn't work don't forget to change "Input Source" to "Front Mic" in the sound applet.
