Compiz/Beryl work?
Ubuntu GNU/Linux 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) & 8.10: Needed to install restricted ATI driver.
Suspends?
Ubuntu GNU/Linux 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) & 8.10: Suspends, but after doesn't seem to wakeup.
Sound
Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex): Internal microphone is too quite to be useful. Looks like similar problem to Acer Aspire 5520
Correct volume?
- Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex): You have to adjust ALSA volume to make it usable
Headphone jack
- Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex): When using headphones, speakers are still active. To fix it edit startup script /etc/rc.local
gksu gedit /etc/rc.local #at the and of the line, before "exit 0" append: rmmod snd_hda_intel modprobe snd_hda_intel alsa force-reload
Edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
gksu gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base #at the end of file append: options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
Working function key
Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex):
- Fn-F3: information about battery state
- Fn-F4: suspend
- Fn-F7: disable touchpad
- Fn-F8: mute
- Fn-Pg Up: Totem Movie Player stop strack
- Fn-Pg Dn: Totem Movie Player previous track
- Fn-Home: Totem Movie Player Play/Pause
- Fn-End: Totem Movie Player next track
Mic jack
- Ubuntu GNU/Linux 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope): Tested with the recorder application provided (gnome-sound-recorded) with the only device available (capture).
Wireless NIC
Ubuntu GNU/Linux 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope): Device and networks detected, but WiFi led blinks, and the avaiability too. Major times cannot connect to any network, and when connect is very unstable and the traffic fails. The computer case labels wireless device as "Atheros AR5B91", but is detected as "AR928X"
- Ubuntu GNU/Linux 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex): Fully functional
