Processing Bugs for Mozilla based applications can be time-consuming and tricky. In order to deal with constant influx of new bug reports as well as the high number of outstanding bugs, the MozillaTeam tries to establish procedures in order to better share work-load among team members.

This page gives a brief introduction on how to use bug-tracking features to support Mozilla bug triagers day by day. A transcript of the bug flow process can be found at ["MozillaTeam/Bugs/Procedures/Transcript"]. The bug flow process is also explained at ["MozillaTeam/Bugs/Beginner"], which is a filtered version of the transcript.

Bug State Policy

Since the MozillaTeam heavily depends on properly set bug states to organize the team workflow, we discourage changes to that field by non-team members unless you have read the ["MozillaTeam/Bugs/States"] document. Please feel free to jump in once you have done that!

Bug Tag Policy

The bug processing workflow is further refined by making use of pre-defined ["MozillaTeam/Bugs/Tags"]. Please use them in with the State changes to indicate the current place in the triage cycle.
