Experience
Localization
The "Ubuntu Czech Translators" team has currently 6 core members responsible for reviewing proposed translations, solving problems, correcting bugs and communicating with upstream. The total number of contributors is vastly greater, about 260 contributors at present. Ubuntu 8.04 packages in Launchpad are translated in about 70%. All the main packages like Ubuntu-specific applications and documentation are mostly fully translated. In documentation all the templates except server-guide have 100% translation. We collaborate with upstream a lot, for example we have helped to achieve 94% Czech translation of Gnome 2.22 (9% increase from previous release). All the main applications which user can see from the desktop and Gnome environment are almost fully translated. We have a working localization wiki, a localization forum, a localization mailing list and a localization dictionary. We contribute to a project to unify Czech localization dictionaries between various other opensource projects like Gnome, KDE, Mozilla and others.
Local (Community) Support
Local support is provided via our forum, wiki, mailing list, jabber conference (more popular than IRC) and translated official documentation.
