What is a screencast?

Screencasts are short video clips which demonstrate visually how to do a specific task.

What is requirement for this tutorial

I assume that you have RecordMyDesktop or any other application that creates ogg file installed and ogg files created. I also assume that Mencoder is installed and you have required codecs present on the system.

mencoder out.ogg -o out.avi -oac mp3lame -ovc lavc

How can you make it appear on the right click menu?

Open Nautilus

Make the screen look like this

You are done !! Right click on any ogg file created by RecordMyDesktop [url]https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ScreenCasts/RecordMyDesktop[/url] and you will have an option to convert it into AVI
