Introduction
Welcome to the California Team wiki! Our goal is to advocate Free Software and spread Ubuntu through as many avenues as possible. We also want to bring open-minded individuals together to share, learn and discuss anything and everything related to Ubuntu.
Headlines
California had successful Jaunty Release Parties! If you'd like to contribute photos from the event, please add them to the release party page or send us a link to them.
Our next planned event is OSCON at the San Jose Convention Center on July 23rd & 24th.
We hold meetings every other Sunday in the #ubuntu-california channel on Freenode IRC. Our IRC Meetings page has more information and dates. All interested people are welcome to join us!
Projects
We're attending OSCON July 23 & 24th in San Jose! See how you can participate!

Goals

Current Ubuntu Release
The California Team is a Local Community (LoCo). We are not designed for providing support to Linux users. For general information please see www.ubuntu.com. There are other ways to find answers to specific questions. Online tools include google and freenode.net IRC channel #ubuntu.
Ubuntu "Jaunty" 9.04 was announced April 23, 2009. Jaunty Release notes contain important information and should be read before upgrading or installing.
The Canonical press releases on the desktop, netbook & server versions have helpful Jaunty overviews. For higher level descriptions, the Canonical Tour of new features, technical overview, Ars Technica's Jaunty review and Tux Radar's Ubuntu History might be interesting.
Ubuntu distributes software created by X.org video and Linux wireless networking projects. Intel video driver users or developers may find this blog post helpful.
