Ubuntu 9.04がリリースされました

Ubuntuチームは、デスクトップ版/サーバ版/Ubuntu Netbook Remixを公開できることをうれしく思います。Jaunty Jackalopeは最新の素晴らしいオープンソース技術を用い、高品質で使いやすいLinuxディストリビューションを提供するという伝統を守り続けています。Ubuntu 9.04はデスクトップ版、サーバ版ともに18ヶ月のサポートがあります。長期間のサポートが必要なユーザは9.04をインストールしたりアップグレードするよりも、Ubuntu 8.04LTSを継続して利用すべきでしょう。

ARM向けUbuntu 9.04の公開

Ubuntuチームは、ARMプロセッサ向けのUbuntu 9.04デスクトップ版を公開できることをうれしく思います。これはコミュニティによってサポートされた最初のARM版Ubuntuは、imx51やixp4xxなどのさまざまなサブアーキテクチャをサポートしており、各種ハードウェアと仮想環境で利用することが可能となっています。デスクトップ版インストールイメージは、i.MX 51 Babbage開発ボード向として用意されており、これ以外のサブアーキテクチャ向けのネットブートインストールイメージも利用可能です。ARM向けUbuntu 9.04デスクトップ版は18ヶ月間サポートされます。

Finger Lakesで盛り上がりました

CanonicalはUbuntu Jaunty Jackalopeに賭けている

Ubuntu上のテスト段階のext4はクラッシュする

Ubuntu Server Edition 9.04：HPとの進展

The VAR GuyはWorksWithUで、Canonicalが2009年5月にUbuntuサーバー版のオンライン仮想トレーニングを立ち上げることや、これに連動してCanonicalトレーニング・パートナーが6月に教室形式のサーバー・コースを12ヶ国で開始することを報告しています。アメリカでは、Ubuntuトレーニング・パートナーであるFast LaneとBridge Educationがこのサーバー・コースを提供します。このコースの費用は5日で2500USドルですが、トレーニング・パートナーが現地市場での価格を考慮して決めるので、国によって異なります。Canonicalの教育プログラム・マネージャーのBilly Cinaは"クラウド・コース"も2009年中旬に開始する予定であると述べています。

Shuttleworth： OracleのSun買収はオープンソースの重要性を立証している
