Ubuntu Wiki

This page is used by the Xubuntu Team to track ideas about what should be done for the Intrepid Ibex release. Anyone is free to add their own suggestions, but try to keep them short. Exposing and discussing the technical implementation of an idea should not be done here, but in a separate wiki page created for this feature and tracked in launchpad. You can more information about this process on the Feature Specifications wiki page.

New Feature Suggestions

• Collaborate with upstream to bring xfburn in Xubuntu
• Auto-load / show Windows partitions in file manager and 'Places' Menu in Xubuntu (like in Ubuntu).

Things to improve

• Collaborate to improve the menu editor so people can add application shortcuts easily (think drag and drop)
• Make it easier to add video thumbnails to Thunar

Documentation Suggestions

• Provide links from Xubuntu documentation to Xfce documentation (which is already included as part of the Xubuntu release)
• Bring docs up to date with X/Ubuntu changes
  • Policykit
  • Printing support
  • ufw
• Include some screenshots of applications in the docs as appropriate
• Increase Xubuntu community documentation on help.ubuntu.com. (Vincent?)

Website Suggestions

• Integrate the Xubuntu documentation and wiki pages into the Xubuntu.org site similar to how Kubuntu.org is set up
• planet.xubuntu.org
