This wiki page has been set up to aide in the planning of the Ubuntu Lucid Lunx Events for our LoCo Team. Events will include ReleaseParties and InstallFests. Please feel free to put your ideas for our events in the "Ideas" section of this wiki page.

Release Parties

Phoenix

Note: This release party is in conjunction with PLUG. There is an Installfest from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at UAT, with the release party immediately afterwards at Boulders on Broadway.

Volunteers & Presentations

  • # Use this section to add suggestions, etc. Also, this space can be used to describe a presentation you would like to do. Please give a brief description and an idea of how long you think it will take as this will help with scheduling.
  • Video conversion with handbrake and makemkv - brief demo of these tools with emphasis on DVD ripping for HTPC use. Jason Holtzapple - 20 minutes
  • xHans from PLUG has volunteered extension cables and power strips.
  • toddc and two other members have said they have projectors available.

Install Fests

Phoenix

  • Date: 4th Saturday of every month
  • Time: 10am - 4pm

Tucson

  • I will be making contact soon with people in the CS Dept at the University to start planning our next installfest. We will be needing alot of help. Please be thinking about doing a presentation, helping with planing, bringing needed power cords and power strips, etc. The CS dept was very excited about our last installfest because they have migrated to Ubuntu Linux! As a matter of fact, they billed the event as a Windows Removal Event. This is a great way to get involved in serving the community.
