1 Malaysia Broadband Carnival 2011 15th - 16th Oct 2011

• Malaysian Government via MAMPU (Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit) and MCMC (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) have invited Ubuntu Malaysia LoCo Team to assist in this carnival by introducing Ubuntu to all participants of this event. We proudly guide them for installation and usage on their brand new netbooks provided by MAMPU & MCMC.

    • - M. Fauzilkamil (apogee) will collect donations from team community members that is willing to give donations for hosting and domain renewal fees and hand over the donations to mypapit

Software Freedom Day Kuala Lumpur 2011 - 21st Sept 2011

• SFDKL2011 was held at UniKL, Kuala Lumpur. Ubuntu Malaysia LoCo team have taken part in this event by doing presentation and community booth for visitors to get in touch with the Ubuntu community.

PTM UKM 2011 - 18th - 19th July 2011

• National University of Malaysia (UKM) invited Ubuntu Malaysia LoCo Team to introduce Ubuntu on their event on 18^th - 19^th July 2011. We have our OSS community booths for demo and spreading Ubuntu CDs to visitors.

• Malaysian Open Source Conference 2011 was held at Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringi, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. Ubuntu Malaysia have taken part in this event by having Community booth, Ubuntu talks and distributing CDs.

  • 1. Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) Release Party
    

    • - Majority vote that it will be held at Ampang Point (Restoran Kayu Nasi Kandar near Pertonas)
      - Majority vote that it will be held on 5/6/2011, Sunday, 11:00AM
      - Majority vote that RM15 per person will be collected to cover event cost, which consist of Party Cake, Food & Drinks, some gifts
      

  • 2. Planning to promote more team member to be Official Ubuntu Member.

  • 3. Public Awareness Project
    

    • - Tajul have been assigned to lead Ubuntu Awareness Campaign at Matriculation College around Malaysia. There are 13 colleges in Tajul's list under Ministry Of Education (MOE).
      - During this Campaign, we are going to do Demo Session, UX Talks, Share CD, distribute stickers & goodies during this event.
      - we will donate some money, get some sponsors to support CD distribution, sticker printing & bunting/banner. Hopefully, fenris can help to get some Official Ubuntu CD & goodies from Canonical.
      - ApOgEE can donate some DIY Ubuntu Community Stickers for this project.

  • 4. Ubuntu-my Malaysia OSS Event Participation
    

    • - we will participate in LinuxVarsity project
      - we will participate in MOSC2011 event
      

  • 5. Translation Project

  • 6. Web Team Is Back
    

    • - the web team is back in business. We are going to update our wiki, forums, planet and main site.
      

  • 7. Ubuntu-my LoCo ReApproval
    

    • - Gathering previous activities info and updating main MalaysianTeam LoCo wiki for ReApproval.
      - Train new team member to update wiki guided by ApOgEE and Gunbladeiv.
      - other plans like ROS registration will be discussed on Mailing List.
