An update from the Forums Council for June 2015

New Ubuntu Member via forums contributions

We are happy to announce ajgreeny has been granted Ubuntu membership. The process is outlined in the forums thread here and wiki there.

Staff Team

Elfy has stepped down from the Forum Council and from the staff team after several years of dedicated voluntary service to the forum community.

Two forums moderators have also stepped down, Caboose885 and not found.

• June 3th: irc meeting reviewing last release party
• June 10th: annouce for searching a new Ubuntu touch developer and evangelist, we will give her a BQ 4.5 Ubuntu Edition.

• June 15th: We updated our web page ubuntu.cat from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 and implemented a responsive theme.

• June 16th: the BQ Ubuntu Edition is given to our new collaborator Radu Giurgiu who already made a video review.

• June 18th: Our member JosepGallart receives the new Meizu. Here some pictures and some more pictures.

* Ubuntu hour - lectures for beginners were held in Belgrade haklab, every Tuesday.

* Sat, 20th June last gathering „Be Ubuntu“, before summer break, was held in Belgrade haklab.

* Wen, 17th June Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet install day was held in Belgrade haklab.

• Discussed Grub settings, Wireshark, nmap, snort, uncomplicated firewall (ufw), Mac partitioning preparation for dualboot install of ubuntu, difference in bootable USB drives and how to access (windows, linux, mac), security / pentesting toolsets.
• Ran ubuntu in live from USB to increase knowledge for one user.

• Discussed back-up options for Ubuntu and XBMC.
