In order to better support laptops, we need to have a stronger idea about what hardware is supported. In order to achieve this, we will be purchasing a wide range of laptops from a limited selection of manufacturers. It's not practical for us to test all of these ourselves, and so we'll be sending some machines to community members.
The machines will not come without strings attached - people will be expected to install Ubuntu and provide an installation report for every milestone and release candidate of Breezy and Breezy+1. When problems are found, you'll be expected to provide debugging information and test potential solutions. After Breezy+1, it's expected that you'll be allowed to keep the laptops.
We're looking for people who are active in the community, so please include a link to a wiki page that describes what you do within Ubuntu. Being active on the mailing list or forums, producing artwork, helping out on documentation and so on are the sort of thing that we'll be looking for.
So, please add yourself to the table below, and in the near future we'll be getting in touch with people to arrange getting hardware to them.

I would just point out that people who already own laptops may be especially suited for this job since already they are most probably devoting a lot of time to laptop troubleshooting just to get their own hardware to function.
